Providing shelter to those in need
Vogue Jewellers, as an initiative to help the IDPs of the North, donated funds towards a worthy project recommended by the Sri Lanka Navy under the supervision of the Commander, Northern Naval Area. This project will provide houses to low income families resettling in the island sectors of the Jaffna Peninsula. The contributions of the company have so far gone towards five houses in the Nainativu (Nagadeepa) Island, with labour and transport provided free of charge by the Sri Lanka Navy.
The key handing over ceremony was held on 19th October 2011 at Nainativu Island. Vogue was represented by the team headed by the Chairperson, Mrs. Chandra Hemachandra.
The ambitious venture of Vogue Jewellers is to build 50 houses within the next year to coincide with Vogue's 50 years of golden service to the Sri Lankan public.
